Walk The Way

I honestly have to say it is an incredibly beautiful walk and a must for all hiking and nature lovers, there is a great variety of flora, wildlife and picturesque views. I have no doubt after completing this 5 day, 80km route through the Overberg region your heart will truly be smiling.

The past week was definitely a highlight in my 52-year life. Never have I been part of a group that is so extremely well organized, friendly, and caring. The staff of the Hermanus Camino work so well together and they make you feel as if you are the first group they ever dealt with. Everyone is so excited about the work they do and one can see they clearly love the work they do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, It was a life-changing experience that I will recommend to anyone.

Thank you so much for providing us with this amazing experience. We loved every minute! It was fun, energising and educational. The places, food and walks were stunning. But what stood out were the people we got to know and spend time with. As a group of ladies only we felt safe and in good hands. And for that we thank you. We are already recommending this Camino to everyone around us, and will keep doing so. Keep up the good work and please relate our deepest gratitude to the Hermanus Camino team!

What an extraordinary experience this has been. You poured so much heart and care into every detail, and we felt it, every single step of the way. The accommodation was absolutely beautiful. Each place had its own character and charm, yet all were so welcoming and comfortable.  And the food… what a joy. The way the community, the farms, and the locals were woven into the experience made it so meaningful.  As someone who calls this area home, I was genuinely surprised. I discovered stories, history, and farms I never would have encountered otherwise, places and people that gave me an even deeper appreciation for where we live. That was such a gift.

It was the best hiking trip we have ever had. We have hiked all over the world, and your Camino was the best in all regards.The organisation, views, meals, surprises along the way, accommodations and of course the outstanding guides, Teegan and Victor, and organiser, Rowan, were superb. Teegan’s knowledge of the flora  and fauna was incredible. We will recommend this to all our friends and family.

We enjoyed the hike very much: the route, the accommodations and the food. It was a special occasion for us and everything turned out perfectly, even the weather. Jack, thank you for sharing with us your immense knowledge about the country and our area. Shaun, thank you for your great logistic skills and your good humour. Fran and Zim, you were so supportive and patient, even with the slower or lost ones. Also big thanks to the organisers and ladies preparing food for us. We can highly recommend this special walking experience to young and old!

What an amazing experience! As an avid hiker I have walked multiple caminos, both locally and internationally. None of those came near to what I experienced on the Harmanus Camino. Accommodation had been hand-picked to ensure comfortable, luxurious stays each of the four nights.  Slackpacking made our walks  manageable and we could really immerse ourselves in the beauty of our surroundings. Thank you for a spectacular concept which gives hikers the opportunity to do what they are passionate about, in a safe environment with your employees who are just as passionate about what they do.
